Morning Routines of Successful People

Lots of successful folks swear by their morning routines to kickstart their day with a bang. From big names like Oprah Winfrey to tech legends like Bill Gates, they’ve all got their own ways of making sure their mornings set a solid base for whatever lies ahead. And guess what? Their routines have a ton in common.

So I decided to dive into the morning habits of these successful peeps for 60 days to see how having a solid morning routine might affect me. Here’s what I found when I tried to fit these habits into my mornings.

1. Planning Their Day the Night Before

It’s pretty typical: successful people don’t just wing it in the morning. They start the night before. Making a to-do list ahead of time helps them stay focused on what’s important. It gives them a clear idea of what they want to achieve before the day wraps up.

2. Waking Up at Dawn

To really get into it, I decided to push myself and started waking up at 4 AM every morning. Not gonna lie, it was rough, but I must admit the extra time in the morning was worth it.

Having that time meant I could go through my routine without feeling rushed. If the bus was late I wasn’t freaking out, and if someone tried to delay me I could just stay calm. I could focus more on each part of my routine and really soak it in. It made me feel way less anxious and more relaxed as I kicked off my day.

3. Cold Showers

Jumping into a cold shower or ice bath is something many influential people do, like Tony Robbins who plunges into cold water every morning.

Apart from waking you up instantly, cold showers can be good for your blood flow and can help reduce inflammation by tightening your blood vessels. Plus, taking cold showers can help build your resilience. By putting yourself in a chill situation, you’re training your brain to handle discomfort. That really boosts your willpower.

4. Meditation and Self-Reflection

Meditation is the big one among successful people. I’ll admit I had some misconceptions about it. It’s not some big life-changing event. It’s more about taking time to calm your mind.

After a month of meditation, I’ve got to say it’s a habit I’ll keep sticking with. Taking a moment in my day to slow down and really be present was surprisingly powerful.

5. Keeping Away from Phones for the First 30 Minutes

I’m guilty of grabbing my phone the second I wake up. It’s just too tempting and a tough habit to shake off.

Shockingly, this was the toughest change I faced in my morning routine.

I’ve always found it easier to swap out a bad habit with a new one instead of trying to break it entirely. So, I decided to shower right after getting up and make breakfast first before checking my phone.

Even though I felt a bit bored at first, I noticed I felt less overwhelmed. I could stick with what I was doing longer without getting antsy.

Wrap-Up

Successful people know how to make the most of their time and energy to stay ahead. While many of them create habits and morning routines that work for them, what clicks for one person might not be the best fit for someone else.

Trying out these new habits was a fresh experience, and each one affected my day and productivity in its own way. Some will stay in my routine while others probably won’t.

Having a routine is fantastic, but only if it actually helps you reach your goals. If not, it just becomes a rut. If you liked this video don’t forget to hit like and subscribe to our YouTube channel “Digital Magazine.” Thanks for checking this out!
